Did the 1972 Chevelle SS with 21ABT1 (am 8 track stereo) have two front speakers or just one in the middle of the dash?
Mine has never been hooked up since I owned the car. Needed to know which power plug and wiring harness to order.

Am/Fm Stereo and anything with a 8 track, am 8 track and am/fm 8 track got 4 speakers (except El Camino). The radio wire harness you need will have 9 pins on it, a row of 5 pins and stacked just below it a row of 4 pins, 9 pin connector total!

Two speakers under the dash pad , one on each end of the dash and 2 speakers on the rear package shelf. Hope this helps.

Fatrat, I just went throught he same thing so its fresh in my memory, now I have (2) 70 Chevelle's with am/fm 8 tracks in them, 1 is a LS-6, the other is a SS396 convertible, way cool when you pull into a show or cruise-in with the 8 track playing!
