Well, I got it running & driving. Just put a completely new front end under the car, from the center link, the the shocks, to the poly urethane bushings & Chevy Ralleys in new BFG 235/60/15 tires... So I thought I'd post a few pics & see what every body thinks. It's originally a mustard yellow 350 4 barrel car. Haven't checked or run any #'s yet, but guessing original engine. Next is to replace Power Steering Pump & hoses. I'm getting some whining & straining sounds & steering is just tight feeling. It's full, but fluid is toast & full of bubbles. I mean toast like motor oil. So I have all new parts & ill keep fingers crossed the gear box is still good. Once that's done, ill comple the rear suspension. Parts are bought there too, springs, shocks bushings... Just need longer weekends. Anyway, I'm a proud owner & glad to be in good company with other 4 door guys.

So I suppose 1 question for the group... Where can I get new weatherstripping? Right along the roof rail what the window rolls up into & against? (Ignore the co-pilot). Mine are obviously shot, but no one seems to really carry a clear part #. Not OPG, not anywhere.... Any ideas?

The color is what was when I bought it. It's actually a "roll on" paint. The color will change at some point. Right now, I'm just getting it back running strong. So focusing on the bones now. Speaking of that, does anyone know.... I understand the frame of the 4-door is the same as the El Camino? That right? If so... Would the rear brake lines match? Looking to start brakes next & replacing all the hard lines. Would El Camino rear hard lines be the same?

Hi Matt

Wheel base of an Elco is the same as a 4-door/wagon. However I think the Elco frame is longer behind the rear axle back to the rear bar. Easier to fix than some other frame mods, but will be needed if you wanted to use and El Camino frame under your car. It is a little stiffer.

I also remember that the Elco fuel/return/vapor/brake lines run the same as a sedan, but not 100% sure. The Elco lines can not be used on a sedan frame as the Elco frame is boxed, and the lines run differently along the frame rails. Also very different from a wagon, so learned to make my own for the Elco frame under my wagon.

HTH,
Tom
