Hello all. New to the site and new again to Chevelles after many years.
Me and my wife bought a Chevelle in 1990 when we were dating. Sold it to her dad in 94, his full resto done in 2001, and we just bought it back last week.
Couple questions. The lower door panel screws are silver? The window cranks should be clear? The few screws that hold the rubber molding to the door should be silver also?

My memory might be off, but aren't there screws in the "U" channel rubber? How about in the very front of the door that holds the front of the weatherstripping that goes around the perimeter of the door. I know there are plastic retainer clips that go in about every 4" to hold it in place, but what about at the ends.

I haven't reached that point in reassembly of my 10 year resto, .....yet.

Yea this rubber i think is what I am talking about, it mounts to the top front of the door, two screws in it. Mine where PAINTED GREEN when the car was done. I would think they should be silver.
My father in law did the resto on this car back in 2001 and I going back over some of the small details he missed like the wrong screws used here and there.

ALSO the letter facing on things on the dash, like the word LIGHTS etc should be sliver right? Just like the facings of the ac vents?

The screws that hold the U jamb rubber and the outer window felts were just steel screws that quickly oxidized after building. The Resto companies seem to like to provide zinc plated screws that are way more shiney than needed. If I was doing a 100 point resto, and I am, I plan on hitting the shiney screws you can see with a dab of Sharpie to conceal them.
