I can not find a schematic for the 1970 396SS turbo 400 Kickdown harness. There are two wires that are suppose to come from the transmission switch located on the drivers side of the tranny. These wires are Orange and the other is Black. I am pretty sure I see where the orange one goes as I have a cut wire pertruding out of my fire wall (aside of an ignition wire, black with purple line) But I don't know where does the Solid black wire go from the actual switch on the tranny. Please help...

All you need to do is run 12 volts from either ING or ACC on fuse box to one side of switch, and the other terminal on switch goes to the single terminal on trans drivers side, by speedo gear. Does not mater if you use the orange or black wire to switches. The way it works is when the kick down switch is fully depressed or closed it will send 12 volts to the 1 plug terminal on drivers side of trans. To test just add 12 volts and push switch hooked up to trans with your hand and you will hear a click form the trans switch. Thats it.

The black wire goes to another switch inside the tranny. It is not the solenoid. Where does this wire receive it's power???? By the way JEFF74,,, awsome pics of those cars. I especially like the 70 elky. SWEET
