Oh come on Chris, I see LS6 Oil pans on E-bay all the time :D

Chris is correct.

Chevelle, Nova Camaro Big Blocks all had the same pans. They do have some distinct markings though and can be identified from repro.

The Dipstick, will need the Yellow Plastic Tip on the end, And a Gold Cad Dull finish on the tube.

Depending on your application, these parts are being reproduced. The time, research and cost to correctly identify and purchase good quality originals may be cost prohibitive.

www.ss396.com can sell you good quality, "reasonably correct" reproductions.

Chris and John, thanks for the reply. I build race engines, and very rarely do I get into the restoration world due to the enormous amount of time to research the correct parts, markings and so on. The exceptions are my 63 corvette, and this 1970 SS that belongs to my "son"....He adopted us when he was around 10 years old, he is now 50!!! It appears to be an original LS6 car, the engine having been replaced at one point. This site is what I have been looking for in the information department. I have been building Chevrolet race engines for a long time, and I have accumulated a lot of parts..mostly from the MKIV engine program. I might try to convince Keith to post some pictures later on to track the identity of the car a little more. Thanks again for your help! TS
