i think what they are trying to say is CENTRAL OFFICE PRODUCTION ORDER which means it is a stripe delete. but it has no flapper or pins, if it has a paint code its just a plain jane ss. stripe delete it should have xx or -- for paint. if special order color it will be blank. but that will all be on build sheet. a little high.

Interesting car. Red on Red. I wonder if that dealership is the one that Dale Earnhardt bought...

I don't think COPO means stripe delete. Standard equiment was domed hood, no pins, no stripes. Cowl induction (flapper hood), came with stripes and pins. If you didn't want the stripes on the cowl induction hood it would have to be deleted. If you wanted stripes on the standard SS domed hood you had to order option code D88. I think the -- you are refering to would be for the paint code on the cowl tag and did not have anything to do with the stripes. If you wanted something other than the standard colors you could order it that way and they would put -- where the paint code would normally be on the cowl tag. Not sure for Canadian cars they might have something on the cowl tag for stripes or not.

Car seems way to high for an SS without original engine or transmission and doesn't even have the right rear end (10 bolt). But an SS with build sheet goes for big bucks nowdays and it seems that the red on red combo is sought after. Kind of an intersting variation to the stripes on the hood on this car.
