I need help in replacing the frame on my 70 Chevelle SS. The car will under go a complete restoration, including a frame off resto. Any help would be greatly appreciated in locating the correct frame, thanks.

Ebay has 2 70 chevelle frames availableright now. The convertible frames were boxed so they were stronger but i'm not sure about the ss frames. I've got a 70 chevelle that is going to be a clone. I had the frame sandblasted and powdercoated semi-gloss black, it turned out really well.

No difference in the frame its a malibu. SS was a option package.
Any 69-72 malibu 2 door frame will work even an elcamino frame. On the elcamino frame you will have to cut it down I think 3" in the back where the bumper area.

THe El Camino frame will not work for 69-72. It's 4" longer in wheelbase, meaning 4" would have to be removed from between the wheels.

Also, check in Hemmings. I see frames for sale in there.
