As a result of a long drawn out frame-off restoration on my '70 SS, I cannot locate the jack. I have the base and the hook though. Can any one point me to some leads on locating one, i.e., what other cars (Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac) is the '70 Chevelle jack associated with or is it one of a kind? It might be specific to a '70 year model as my '71 Chevelle jack is certainly different (hook has pin on it and is not removable).

It depends on you. On several of the jacks I've seen, the rivit has a date code stamped on it. Others have date codes stamped on the housing. If you do not care about the date code then you have several hosts. If you have the hook (stamped Chevelle) and the correct base, then you just need to locate a post assembly that will fit your base.
Per my Chevrolet parts catalog all '68 thru '72 (date the catalog was made) Chevelle's (exc Monte's) are the same. The list of cars that use the same jack is long... '69 Pass, 71-72 Nova and Camaro...

I still should have the jack from my '70. Not planning on using it any time soon plus it no longer will fit in the trunk. ;)
If interested, email me and I'll look for it and take a pic...

67 vette guy,
Can you tell me if a '68 El Camino's hook is the same as a Chevelle or wagon and what years? I have the base and post, except for the hook for a '70 El Camino, for my '68 El Camino.

Thanks Pat
