I purchased an aftermarket SS hood for my '69 and purchased the chrome louvers from Ausleys. I tried to put them on and the studs don't line up with the mounting holes. I believe the hood was a Goodmark unit, which is supposed to be good. The only way I could use these louvers is to epoxy them to the hood. Has anyone had this problem and what were you able to do? Thanks

Our1969 el Camino just got the same treatment with new hood as well. I couldn't install the repro louvres until I used a die grinder to open up the stud holes. The inner and outer panels didn't line up very well and the holes were winking each other by quite a bit. Once the holes were opened up everything went together fine. The inner panel of the hood had a few bends and dents that had to be there before the inner and outer were hemmed together. Quality control on repro parts is a real hit and miss from what I can see. The hood itself fit fine. On the other hand the fenders were a disaster. Some of the grille trim holes are missing as well. BUY ORIGINAL where ever possible, you won't regret it.
