hi restoring a 396 (375hp) 1969 chevelle.have a question on the timing tab.does it have numbers or the A and R on it.it is a 8 inch balancer on this motor. thanks :thumbsup:

It's got an A for advanced, an R for retarded, a zero in the middle for TDC, and deg marks from A to R, that represent 2 degs each.

Put a mark on the balancer about 2.5" from the TDC mark and that will be about 36 degrees before TDC. Nice for checking total advance. You won't run much more timing than that with today's pump gas without pinging and detonation.
