I just purchase a May 14 1969 396-325hp bare block with a JA code. I am looking for all the factory part# to put this engine back together( heads, intake, size of balancer, crank,rods pistons, carb, dist.,pulleys,flywheel size. Is there a book for that would help me? Thanks, 6t9er

For starters off the top of my head since ja is 396/325hp you will need 063 heads/067 intake/q-jet 7029201-man trans,7029200 auto trans,497 distributor,065 water pump,if running clutch fan for ac or hd cooling it's 772/alt 837 stock low output 37amp unit.

Thats correct. The 837 would be for the solid lifter motor with deep grove pulleys, and way more pricey.

Right chruch but wrong pew/LOL!!!

Not too far off as the 837 was used in 69 but your right that the 834 was the much more common alt used on lower perf motors /DANG!!!!!!.

For some reason i mix those 834 & 837 alts up once in a while and i own a 69./BAD BOY!!!!!!!.
