1968 grill help

putting the final touches on my 68 chevelle and need a little help. Been apart so long cant remember some things. I am installing the grill and can not figure out what the piece is between the headlamps that connects the header panel to the grill? Have no clue assembly manual is vauge, thanks for any help or pics of grills with this piece.

There's a "Z" shaped piece of metal that's riveted to the header and to the grille (many of us use these instead of rivets- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/64-6...ryZ33645QQihZ021QQitemZ310046501576QQtcZphoto).
