I am looking for a 1969 Chevelle frame for a 2 door hardtop. Preferably for a big block, if that makes a difference. I had someone call, and say they had a frame out of a 1968 4 door that is the same. Now from what I understand, the 4 door is not the same. Can anyone verify this to make sure. I would hate to miss out on the frame if it will work for me. lf so, does the frame have to be a big block frame to work, or is the small block frame the same.

Thanks for all the help in advance, Chuck

Hi. 68 Frames are are different in at least 2 areas that I know of. Under the front crossmember there is what I would call a mini skid plate looking thing welded to the frame. Real obvious when looking down from the top. The rear brake hose hole is different than 69-72's.

x2, what he said :D

at first glance they look the same but there are differences. a 2 door 68 frame will work under a 69 car though.
