I was wondering if the original tach for a 68 chevelle would work in the hei distributor and wouldn't fry it. Does the hei push too much current to the tach and eventually fry it, or will it work ok. I know for a fact it does work, I have tried it a couple of times. But I ran into the problem that it doesn't work now. I haven't took it apart to see if it is burnt up yet. If it did burn up, it didn't smoke like my clock did a year ago.
