Are all of the 1968-1972 driveshafts the same length, except with different yokes to accomodate different trannies and rear ends?

I want to know if I can buy any driveshaft out of a chevelle from these years and just change the yokes for my apllication?

Thanks!

The driveshaft for the powerglide should be the same as the 350 tranny and you can use it on the 200r4 But for the 400 turbo it is shorter and you have to move the tranny crossmember back(no biggie) and I dont know about the 700r4 etc....

Hope this helps.

I'm trying to figure out 1 length, and I keep posting, but I'm having a hard time getting people to agree on answers. I want to do this right the first time.

1. I would like to know the length from center to center of the u-joints for a 12-bolt rear end, m-22 transmission on an LS6 454 450 hp block?????????

Well at least this time, I think we answered your question you asked. As for your setup, you might ask that specificly, or better yet take the car to a driveshaft place and let them measure the exact measurements. Sounds like a great setup, good luck.

Jon,
Just for added info for you. An M22 DOES NOT translate to a specific length. The earlier M22s were EXACTLY the same length as a regular Muncie (they are all contained in the same case/tail housing, 63-70 27spline tailshaft). The same applies for the later M22s. They are exactly the same length as the 71-74 Muncies, which are 3/4in longer than the 63-70 Muncies and they have the bigger 32spline tailshaft (same as a turbo 400).

Why can't anybody give me a length? Were there that many different driveshafts for the 1970 Chevelle LS6??? I'm sure that every 1970 LS6 Chevelle had the same driveshaft in it. What was the measurement from center to center of the u joints???
