Mark,

I think at my one year mark, I had separated the body from the frame and was working on revamping the suspension. This resurrection has been a marathon, so far. You are doing well!!
The garage I rent only has shade until 10 am. The rest of the day, the sun cooks the garage. The sun pours into the garage until about 2 in the afternoon. It was 96 degrees, when I last worked on her. After baking in the heat for 4 hours, I nearly passed out. It’s the only time I‘ve ever been affected that bad by the heat. For most things, the car has to be pushed out of the garage to work on it. Fry in the sun or bake in the garage, neither one is fun or makes for a productive day.

Update, still wiring!!! I ran out of 12ga wire, so I was unable to wire the e-fans. Pretty much everything else is wired. Need to ground the fuel pump & tank sender. Regulator is in, needs the return hooked up. Waiting for a 90 degree PFTE fitting. Decided to run the battery cable down the back of the engine, so as to stay clear of my headers. I’m waiting on some red Techflex wire covering and shrink wrap to cover that and give a little protection. Here is the under hood progression. Does not look like much but, what a pain in the a$$.

I’ll be installing the radiator soon but I have a feeling the shroud is not going to be very helpful cooling while stopped. I may be pulling the shroud out for modifications. Rubber flaps over the open areas to seal the core and get maximum airflow from the two fans. The flaps would lift during highway driving fo max “ram air” flow. We”ll see.

Ordered my rims, ouch! Was going to go with Billet Specialies Hydro’s. 12 weeks out, for production! Forgeline was suggested to me. A little more expensive and I like the VX1R a bit more than the Hydro. The Forgeline‘s are 8-10 weeks out. 18x10 (5.5bs) rear and 18x8 (4.5bs) front. Tires with be Nitto NT555RII 275 or 285/40’s on the rear with Nitto NT555G2 245/40 on the front.

Fuel lines are done, finally. Just installed my last PFTE fitting from the regulator to the return.

Radiator is in! I had to remove about 4 inches of aluminum bracing from the bottom left and right sides. It hit my core support. Played around with height as well. The core support has 9.75 inch bolt spacing. The radiator only has one set of mount holes per side that match this spacing but it seems to put the radiator low. The fill neck seems a bit tall and I know space is limited in this area. If I raise it up to the next set of holes, it looks better but the lower holes do not line up. I need to check with Wizard.

I just need to attach the fan feeds and grounds.

Real tight! So much so that I had to pull the cover off the tensioner.

It may be a little late for this but you might want to put the battery in the trunk so you can put some of your stuff where the battery is. You could move the stuff of the inner fender to the space it opens up. With these cars under the hood real estate can be a premium.

Lew540, Yeah, I hate how crowded the passenger fender looks. I have the ECU hidden under the fender but everything else needed to be accessible. Under the dash was tight. If it bugs me too much, I guess the battery I’ve may be a future option but for now, it stays. I have 8 weeks of wiring and plumbing in her and I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to fire her up in a week or two.

It feels like it’s been a long time since I posted anything, and it has. I still have my car! Lost my garage but found another a bit further from my house. Got a new assignment in my job, that has me working M-F. No more 4 on 4 off. Promotions are coming up so there has been test prep and studying.

Snapped this picture yesterday after the landlord put a new garage door in.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate the kind words and inspiration. New job responsibilities, change in work hours, and that my vehicle is garaged 15 minutes away all have contributed to a lack of progress. I need to take a few days off and just focus on her. Knock out the little things and get back on it. Spring will be here before I know it and I’ll be kicking myself for not working harder over the winter.
Thanks again!

Hi something I noticed in looking at your engine pics is you have a PCV valve in pass valve cover and just a fill plug in the driver side , to have a properly functioning pcv system you need a breather on the opposite side . On chevs the pcv is always on driver side and breather on passenger side .

It’s not a PCV valve, as it’s explained to me by the builder, it’s a sealed negative pressure system. The oil fill cap actually has an o ring to seal the top half of the engine. So far she works great.
