Guys,

Would the correct finish for a 67 Q-Jet be gold or silver? I did a search, but nothing came up indicating colors.

Also, what are the differences in the Q-Jet carbs for the auto or manual trans cars of those early years?

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Pete

Pete;

The correct color for the castings would be yellow chromate ("gold"), the base would be natural aluminum, and the steel hardware will be either clear zinc (originally refered to as "silver cad"), yellow zinc, or black, depending on the component. The throttle shafts themselves were usually coated with a green teflon coating, but I'm not aware of anyone who's reproducing that particular finish at this time.

I don't have my books in front of me right now, but the common differences between auto and manual trans carbs is a different throttle operator (the lever the throttle linkage attaches to), and sometimes some minor internal calibration differences.
