I have a 1967 Chevelle 396 big block automatic. I want to install headers, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what headers work best in terms of fit and performance ?? Thanks in Advance.

Cheers

What is the purpose/use of the car ?

I have a 468ci BBC with 500+ HP / Alum Heads & a TH400 setup for Racing and Street/Hwy Cruzin
I bought these so they would provide Max HP/TQ for my BBC at the Track
2” Tubes x 30” Long / Collectors 3.5” x 10” Long with 3.5" Cutouts into a 2.5" H Pipe Exhaust
Hooker Headers 2455-1: Competition Headers 396-502 Chevy Big Block V8 | JEGS
I lowered my 67 Ride Height in the Front about 1.5" from Stock so the Heasders hang a little Low
Speed Bumps are the Only problem // have to go slow over them
Also had to Dent 2 Tubes on Driverside for Steering Shaft and also shimmed Steering Box
with washers for clearance, 1 washer at the top front and 2 washers at the bottom front.

However since you only have a 396ci BBC I would think that 1.75" Tubes would be better
less chance of them interfering with the Steering Shaft and Hanging to Low

If you DONOT have Alum Heads then these would work Hedman 68198: Elite Ultra-Duty HTC Coated Full Length Headers 1965-1975 Camaro, Chevelle, Malibu, Nova, Impala, Bel Air | JEGS

If you have Alum Heads then these might work Doug's Headers D313-B: Black Hi-Temp Coated Headers 1965-1974 Big Block Chevy 396-502 1-3/4" Tube Diameter | JEGS

It's not wither or not you have aluminum heads or not.
It is the port location. ( Race Rites are aluminum, with stock port locations along with some of the factory aluminums ) The 1 3/4" headers will be sufficient unless you are racing or making big power.
X2 on the afore mentioned Hedman and Doug's
Otherwise Lemons for fitment.
