X2

Mine took about a week to "settle". If everything on the car is new, I would drive it a little while. If you can't stand the 2" difference, buy some rubber spacers at your local auto parts store.
What rear coils did you have now? You might just need to upgrade your rear coils.

Wait until you get all the weight on the front before you try to level it. If all the suspension has been torqued you need to loosen the bolts at the bushings upper , lower, front and rear until all the weight is on the car, then tighten all the suspension bolts with all the weight on. Then after a couple weeks of driving check for ride height.

When or if the front springs settle, the amount they drop isn't very significant. They certainly won't drop 2 inches.

I had the same issue on my '67. The front springs never settled, even 19 years later they were the same height as the day I installed them. I wound up putting in taller rear springs.

I agree with Tom; you should take into consideration the unfinished front end on your car. The completed front end will lower the stance some, but again not a 2 inch drop. You should get the car finished before you do anything else to try to level it. As I'm sure you know, swapping in new rear springs is a simple job.

I raised my 67 about a 1-3/4" in the rear, I used 1-1/2"aluminum rear spring spacers. It's a aluminum spacer formed like the top of your rear end where the spring sets. It sets on the spring perch and then you set your spring on top of it. I ran a bolt, washer and nut thru it to hold it in place just for added security and then added a thin rubber spring washer and then my springs. I still run factory shocks and I have the look and ride I want. I have seen the spacers on eBay but I got mine from a local foundry in San Antonio Texas.
I run 15x8-1/2 American Torque Thrust D with P235/70R15 BFG T/As on the rear and we very seldon have any tire/fender scratch and that is only when the trunk is really loaded and very rough road. It's happened about a half dozen times in the past 5 years and no marks on the tire.
But, before you do this please do as the others suggested and drive the car to get it settled.
good luck

thge car is just about done and as I look at it the rear end sits about two inches lower than the front. I do not want air shocks, any ideas to raise the back end about two inches?
i ordered a pair of extra high springs from j c whitney i put them on my 65 chevelle and on my 67 elcamino raised them between 2 and 3 inches ck the j c whitney cat.
