Can someone tell me the difference between the repro plastic fan shrouds? What is different about the small block vs big block fan shroud?

L34, L35 big block and L79 small block got plastic. The 283, 327 got metal shrouds. Plastic---Part# 3903957 L79, # 3891464--L34, L35, Metal #3861718--283, 327.
