Is there a special spark arrestor for the PCV tube for the SS cars? The one that fits my 67 L79 is too small to fit on the 66 SS air cleaner that I have. The 66 base also has this "bushing" over the tube in the base. Is it possible that this is something that some previous owner added?

It’s just a wire mesh style that was used in all Chevy open air cleaners

I know what the arrestor us, it just doesn't fit with the pictured "bushing" on the tube. When I take it off the tube, the arrestor then fits. My question, is the piece in the picture supposed to be there, or was it added.by someone ahead of me.

on my 1970, and using the vent tube from my original air cleaner base, the arrestor screen fit tightly to the 1" diameter tube without any bushing as shown. if 66 model is anything like my '70, my opinion is that the bushing was added.

I think that "bushing" is in fact the flame arrestor with the wire mesh missing, isn't it?
