Trying to install a dash speaker where nothing was. The grille is there but nothing else.
Have Custom Auto #2008 speakers which are for a 1966 I found out. Can I bend or modify the brackets or do they mount differently on my 1965 ?

I have have the kenwood dash speaker for my 66 . Looking at pictures of the 64-65 and 66-67 speakers the only difference I noted was the mounting bracket was a little different. I'm guessing the mounting of the speaker is similar. Probably have to bend the mounting bracket slightly. Here are a couple of pics under my dash. Does your’s look similar?
