So I bought a new forward lamp harness from M&H electrical, and I seem to have run into a wall on this one. There's a group of wires that I can't seem to figure out where they go. I included a picture of the wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks man! Finally got it all hooked up, she's ready to fire up again! I noticed you're from Atwater, I'm surprised I never saw you and the '64 around!

YEP horn relay. The two red wires are a feed (from alternator) and wire to feed the ignition key/fuse block. The other two wires on the plug black-from your steering column (horn ring) green- feeds your horns. Here is a wiring diagram http://www.autowiringmanual.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/1964-Chevy-Chevell-Wiring-Diagram.jpg

Taylor, I drive it often around here in this part of the valley. I had it up at the Wednesday night open track night two weeks ago at the Sac. Drags. I even host a car show/cruise-in for my students at Los Banos High School in October to raise money for our auto shop.

It will more than likely be Saturday Oct. 19 this year. I will post a link for the car showI used to drive to the cruise in that was hosted at the Sonic. Maybe 2-3 times over the summer, and would cruise it from time to time. Where you cruising your 64 much when you were down here. What years were you around. Mine has been back on the road since '05. It was down for 6 years. Do you have any pictures of yours?

First of all, this is a great place to learn for folks like me. I am new to this site, so thank you guys for all your help (in past I have learned a lot). To continue with his question, what are the other 2 longer wires that come off the same area (red and black)? Im trying to figure out if it goes to a regulator or something??? My 64 SS does not have anything in this general area (not ever the horn relay)

Red and black? Not sure. The green and black are for the horns. One to trigger the relay and the other is the relay's output to power the horn(s).

Do you have a picture of your set-up?

Welcome aboard :)

Those wires are for the ammeter shunt on a 64 SS only car. Looks like a ballist resistor but is painted a Kelly green color. Without it, the ammeter will not function.

Not to be picky, but it isn't an SS only option. It was for cars with the gauge package, which could/did come in NON SS cars.
