Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between a 1964 regular Malibu and a Malibu with an SS package? I know the vin number on the SS is a 58 vs 56 on the Malibu. How else can you tell? All replys will be greatly appreciated.

A ss will have a slim trim pieces that run on the upper portion of vehicle while other models may have trim pieces that about mid door height and are thicker.

See my sig for the trim on the upper edge of the fenders, door, rear.

closest I can tell the 58 only indicates that it is a v-8 car......the 65 has 138 in the serial but I can't tell on the 64
the HARD way to tell is look at the shifter area and it is easy to determine if it was professionally produced or "professionally cloned"
