Found this old Chevy truck - I think it is a 1948 ThriftMaster - sitting in a field... looks like it has been there at least a day or two...
The entire truck is rust, although it doesn't appear to be completely rusted through on the body panels (that I could tell from a light look). The passenger door still swings remarkably smooth. All the glass is busted. The inside is a wreck. The tranny appears to be gone. The hood has been abused, as you can see.
This truck will likely sit where it is and continue to rust until the end of time....unless I do something with it. So I'm trying to find out if it has enough (or any) value to make it worth messing with at all (for a resto when I become a millionaire :hurray:, or to at least save some of the parts/pieces from total rust consumption).
For what it's worth, the wife is hissin' me on to get it and do something to "save" as much of it as can be saved. There is some sentimental value to the truck for her... her brother died about 21 years ago in an accident and when he was just a little boy whenever he saw this truck he called it the "la la truck".
The biggest negative to me is that I have nowhere to store it. It would have to remain outside in the weather, so I wouldn't be helping it much for very likely a long time.
Thanks in advance.
