Would this be idiodic? I have a 69 Malibu, but love the SS rallys. I found a set with the trim rings for $300, and I am so tempted to buy them and put them on. What do you guys think? What is the largest tire that I can go with as well? I know the 14 inch limits me.

I like the 225/70-14's they look pretty bold on a 14" rim, they measure 26.5" tall. Some guys like the 245/60-14's in my opinion they look too small, they measure 25.5 tall.

I have 245/60/R14 BFGs on my '69, and I'm with Dave, too short. I'll be running a 15" wheel anyway, so it's a moot point for me. Looking at a 28" or 29" tire to fill up the wheelwell a little better.

If you can buy a set of '69-'70 SS wheels for $300.00 DO IT NOW. If you decide you don't like them you should be able to get quite a bit more than you paid with out a problem. Good Luck.

On used original wheels, make sure to check the lug nut holes to make sure they haven't been widened out over the years. You can now get slightly larger acorn nuts which can compensate for holes which are larger than they should be, but if the holes are too large or chewed up, the wheels are useless (which is why they may be selling so cheap).

I'm not sure which wheel you're talking about; Super-Sport wheel or Rally wheel?

Sorry, it is the supersport spoked wheels with the SS caps.
