I Have a 69 Chevelle with a 10 bolt one-wheel peel. I also have a 12 bolt posi from a 64 GTO. Anybody have any advice on what to look for for a potential swap?
The 12 bolt wasn't produced until '65, so the GTO must have had a 12 bolt installed later. The '65 to '67 rear ends are 1 inch narrower than the '68 to '72 rear ends, but the brackets are similar and they can be swapped into other cars.
Swapped a rear end only once. Was relativly easy,an 85 Fleetwood, into an 86 Fleetwood Limo. Ya think I'm looking at a can of worms, or somewhat easy.?
Support the car on jack stands. Remove the wheels. Remove the drive shaft. Disconnect brake hose and e-brake cables. Support rear end on a floor jack. Remove lower shock bolts. Lover rear end and remove springs. Remove upper and lower control arm bolts.
