I bought this 12 bolt because it was cheap. Not really sure what it is or was . Looks like camaro.

coo 4.10 12 bolt posi from a 70 camaro. is it a 174 posi unit and 41/10 gears? I spent years looking for a affordable 12 bolt for my camaro. ended up with a 3.07 open for mine. jim

It still has the 4.10: 1 gears. I doubt its ever been apart. Been in the garage since the 1970s.

Looks like there was a welded repair done on the left axle tube where it attaches to the center housing on your first picture.

I saw that , looks like a factory mistake and lousy repair. i am a professional welder no problem.

I am a professonial welder. I will repair that sad looking gouge and weld today. Clean up and primer re today. I will have a spare rear end for my 1970 Camaro.
