my rear finally went on my 70, Is it worth rebuilding my 12 bolt or should I just buy a moser already done and just bolt it up?? The car is 454BB (500hp), tko600

It is worth rebuilding. If you decide to go with a Moser you can sell the one that you have to someone who wants to rebuild it.

really? how much does it usually cost to rebuild a rear to new?? It's going to cost a little more than $2000 for a new moser

I just paid $1000 for a complete rebuild. It included new gears, new eaton posi all labor, new bearings, and I believe one new axle.

A new Eaton is $425, gears are $170, installation kit is $95, axles are $170, axle bearings and seals are $20 and axle studs are $20. Labor can run between $200 and $350, depending on where you take it.

i got my 12 bolt from moser complete housing with 4:11 gears for 2500.00 really nice

What "went", may not be that much too repair. You may want to keep it to add to the value of your car. That's if your into the #'s thing.

Rebuild the one you have, apparently it's still in working order. $1000 is very reasonable for a complete rebuild.

Dont believe the hype from the magazines saying its more cost effective to buy NEW...they push new because they have advertisers to please.

New 12 bolt's are for guys who don't already have one. - Rebuild.
