Will there be anything more than unbolting and bolting-in involved in replacing the 10 bolt rear in my 70 Malibu convertible with the 12 bolt rear in my 71 Malibu hardtop? Thanks for any help.

Should fit right in, but check the size of you U-joints first. I had a 1350 yoke on my 12 bolt and the 10 bolt driveshaft had a 1310 U-joint.

I just took out a 10 bolt from my 67 and put in a 12 bolt from a 70.Bolted right in. But, like Aug98 suggested I needed a new u-joint. P.S. nows a great time to install all new bushings in the trailing arms

It will be a 100% bolt in swap. I just finished installing a 12bolt from a 69 350 Malibu into my wife's 70 Malibu conv. TOO EASY! The u-joints were the same, but as I understand, once in a while they are a different size. I had just put new brakes on the 10bolt and they swapped right over to the 12bolt. Also, 5 of the 6 bearings in the 12bolt had to be replaced.
