Just got back from shop having new front bearings installed- the old ones were very worn and needed replacing.

Upon looking at my brake shoes, the guy asked if I had done the work & bought 'em at Schucks- i said no, this other shop across town did it about a year ago.

The shoes still have plenty of wear left, but they have crack lines all over them- he said they were "heat fractures" and it was because they were cheap crappy shoes and I should take it back and have the other shop replace them.

I don't think the guy was trying to bilk me on them- and i looked at them and they definitely have these cracks all over them.

Is this a common problem with cheap shoes? If i go back to the other shop are they gonna tell me this is normal wear??

I hate demanding warrantee repairs when I don't know understand the problem with the "defective" part, but if this really is bad I'll make sure they get it right.

Thanks-
Ben
