i was lucky enough to have one of those trucks with the speedometer cluster that failed
there are some people that you can send the cluster in to for a rebuild, but i found a guy on Ebay who just sold the steeper motors, $39 for all 6
took about 1 hour start to finish, a little careful unsoldering and resoldering and its all fixed
sometimes it works out, lol

Some were repaired under warranty, we had an 03 at my work that was repaired under warranty. Thanks for posting the successful repair. I have an 02 Silvy and swapped in a brand new Escalade cluster.
