Anyone know how easy it is to replace the steering column collar on a 72 Chevelle? My car was originally a column shift but has been retro-fitted with the horseshoe on the floor, so the original steering column collar forward of the ignition collar looks a bit out of place with the column shift...
I am installing new coil springs and a lift kit (aluminum spacers, they are 1 1/4" tall). Now way its going to fit. If i use a spring compressor will it work and how much do i compress it? Also can you over stress the spring this way
Anyone have any good suggestions or recommendations on Power Steering and Alternator brackets ?
would like to find something other than the standard type mounts, hoping to kind of find a set made by same company, so they look alike.

My friend is looking for a stock '70 Chevelle spindle w/disc brakes. The GM P/N is 3966151; he would prefer a nice used GM piece to an aftermarket one.
I'd like to find out what applications use the same spindle, so we know what other cars to look for. So far, I have these:
How does the harness running down the steering column mount? It is half-round with a clip, so I'm pretty sure it attaches to the column somehow, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how. :confused:
