General Information

3100 Pickup
Pearl White
Street Rodded Truck with many modifications that will be listed below
The Truck was a Texas Farm Truck with the original six cylinder and three on the tree. The couple that owned it from new sold it to a man in Lyndale Texas at that time the truck was the original green. The second owner didn't like the color so he had it painted Cadillac Escalade Pearl White. The paint job is O.K. from 20feet. They never pulled the truck apart to paint so it looks like a paint job that I would do.

One day my Niece called from Lyndale and said a man had just put this beautiful truck on his lawn with a 4 sale sign. She knew how much I liked old cars and trucks (at that time I was building a 51 Chevy Truck) and she gave me a call. We got ahold of the owner and made the deal and I had the pearl shipped up to Louisville Kentucky.

I drove it with the six cylinder for a couple of years but wanted that V-8 sound under the hood. The modifications listed below will show where the truck is now.
1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup (Pearl White)

Under the hood is where it all happens in a driver so modern technology was a must. I installed a Chevy Performance 350/300HP crate engine but added some goodies to help it start and run better.

MSD Distributor, Coil and Ignition box give the engine the spark.

Inglese 8 stack fuel injection with a FAST engine fuel management system gives it the fuel.

Sanderson Block Hugger Headers and a Flowmaster 2 1/2 inch exhaust system get the gases out the back and give the Pearl the sound I like.

To keep cool a Vintage Air Front Runner system turns the water pump, Alternator and AC Compressor and a PRC Aluminum Radiator with dual cooling fans help to keep the engine temps under control.

Transmission is a 4L60E GM 4 speed trans so I have overdrive when on the highway. The transmission is controlled by a FAST Transmission controller that complements the engine control system.

The truck starts up great even after sitting and runs strong.
The Pearl had the stock bench seat in it when purchased. It now has a custom interior by Sewn Tight Custom Interiors in Sheperdsville Kentucky. Bucket Seats from a 2010 H-3 are covered in Black and Red Vinyl. The door panels and head liner were put together to complement the seats and carry the Red and Black theme across the interior. I built the center Console and Sewntight covered it. A Lokar Shifter gives the shifter the look of a 50's truck.

I installed Dakota Digital HFD gauges that are great. The choices of backlite and gauge needle colors are endless.

I also installed Vintage Air AC for the hot Kentucky summer days.

On top of the Ididit Steering is a Custom Steering Wheel
The Exterior is pretty much stock except for the paint job. I did change the bed wood from the stock oak to a Wormy Maple with multiple coats of clear on them.
The Pearl is a driver that gets over 2000 miles per year put on her so tunes are a must. I installed an Antique Auto Radio that matches the radio hole in the dash but has all the modern capabilities. AM/FM/Sirius XM/Bluetooth you name it and it can do it.

I installed 4 speakers (Kenwood) two in the console two in the rear side panels left and right of the seat and a Sub-Woofer in the center rear. The AMP for the Sub is located under the drivers seat and this system is great.
The suspension system all comes from TCI (Total Cost Involved) in California. A Mustang II Front suspension with Coil Over shocks give the front end a 2 inch drop for the lower look I like. TCI 2 inch drop custom Leaf Springs in the rear help keep the Moser 12 GM rear with 342 Gears planted to the pavement.

Steering Column is from Ididit and is a chrome GM Tilt Unit.
Wheel and Tire
The Pearl runs Red Steelee Wheels from Wheel Smith in California. Chrome Trim Rings and Chrome center caps with red Chevrolet on them complete the look. Coker Wide White Radials on the front and Cheater Slicks with Wide Whites on the rear complete the 50's vibe.
