General Information

I bought this car in 2012 for $400 as a father-son project. It had been sitting behind a local body shop since 1986. Yes, it was VERY rough, most of the parts that weren't already missing were too far gone to even think about saving. The trunk had been cut out with a torch at some point for a repair on another car. The parts we didn't replace are easier to list than what we replaced. The roof, drivers door, rocker panels, and firewall/cowl are the only parts of the car that have not been replaced with new sheet metal. The entire frame was replaced as well.

The car is being done at home 100% by my 17 year old son and myself. With the exception of boring the block and cutting the valve seats, nothing on this car has been farmed out. We are doing this as a weekend cruiser with show quality paint and body on a $15,000 budget and will be finished in time for the 2016 Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin and will be attending the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville 2016 as well.

Don't let its humble beginnings and low budget fool you. There is more to building a respectable muscle car than just writing the checks.
