327 V8, 4 speed manual, bench seat
My father purchased this new and took delivery in January of 1966. In 1982, he gave the car to me. I drove it daily until 1988 and off and on until 1992 at which time I parked it in a barn to rebuild someday. In 2011 my father and I started the rebuild project. The scope of the build grew and as of April 2016, we are in final assembly after restoring, upgrading and painting everything. Expect to finish in the next year or so.
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu (Danube Blue)
New LS3/480 crate engine with modified fuel rails, coil hiding valve covers and coated header exhaust. Vintage Air front runner pulley system with power steering and air compressor. Custom smooth firewall. Some work put into cleaning up the engine bay with hidden wiring, hoses etc.
Have not yet completed the interior but the plan is to put '66 Chevelle buckets in and follow the original style but with high quality material like leather seats etc. Also plan to finish the trunk to match.
Only exterior modification is to remove the front antenna and fill the hole. Other than that the body was stripped and chemically dipped down to bare metal, all rust repair was done back to new or better quality.
Custom fabricated kick panels to replace the manual air vents with high quality 3 way speakers. Two 10" subs mounted in a custom enclosure behind the back seat but hidden. Amps and a DSP with digital iPhone input source round it out.
Top of the line Detroit Speed front and back suspension kit with coil overs and sway bars. 13" Wildwood disc brakes all the way around with 6 piston calipers in front and 4 in the back.

Billet Specialties Mags from the Legend series 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the back. Tires are Nitto 555s with 245 40s in front and 275 40s in back.
