History
Been in a garage for 35 years. Considering LS swap. Rocket 350 and turbo 350 are fine but have a 2004R and 12 bolt posi ready. Thinking 5.3 LS with the 2004R would be great. Back of napkin calculations: 5-6K for junkyard 5.3, electronics, gas tank/pump, pulleys/accesories, headers/exhaust, motor mounts/crossmember, driveshaft work, supplemental electronics/gauges. Am I missing anything?
Haves: Good radiator, 2004R trans (complicated by tv cable), 12 bolt posi 3.3 (numerically higher would be better... maybe change ring and pinion)
My thoughts: More than 400hp causes increased costs for trans/rear end. Maybe a warmed 5.3 or stock 6.0 is enough horses and reasonable mpgs :).
