History
This car was picked up back in 2001 by my brother. The car used to show off a Placer Gold with a vinyl top, and a standard Malibu hood. However, I only knew that after stripping the car. He had the entire drivetrain rebuilt, but left the exterior alone other than replacing the hood and fenders. I took the car over back in 2017. Since then, I've had the car stripped one piece at a time and got it in epoxy primer. It's had quite a bit of fiberglass and bondo on the quarter panels from the previous ownership and under my ownership, the lower halves have been reskinned with new metal. The trunk has also been patched up and refurbished with a few custom patches done to the wheelhouses. The floor has also had some repairs done from years of window leaks. All in all, the condition is fairly good when compared to more significant restorations. As of June 2021, I have completed the paint just in time for the car's 50th anniversary. Being the first time I've ever done restoration work of this scale, it sure turned out pretty good! Hopefully this will last a long time...It sure has gone a long way in only 3 years.
