      Is this the pump? https://www.holley.com/products/fue...s/carbureted_electric_fuel_pumps/parts/12-150

If so, I've had this pump for about 8+ years now. Seems to work fine. It was supplying fuel to the 540 (over 800 hp) just fine. However, it is gravity fed with a large pre-pump fuel filter and -10 line to carb. The pump is mounted on the frame in the rear of the car. I now am running closer to 900 hp. We'll see how it does now.
There was problems with this pump when it was first released. It would overheat and quit working. Ask me how I know. The Holley engineer in charge of the program told me the problem was solved and shipped me a new pump back then. I asked him about this pump running deadhead. He said I could run it either way and that is was designed to run deadhead. That is the way I have been using it. The most I have gone street driving is about an 80 mile round trip.

Yes, that is the pump I bought. I plan on mounting it on the rear of the frame and re-routing the fuel line. For now I plan on using the existing 6AN line and stock pickup and see how it works. Current ZZ502 with cam/carb/ignition/ valvetrain upgrades runs maybe 550-600 h.p. I wanted a big enough pump in case I do engine upgrades in the future and needed it. :) Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by "running deadhead"?
