instead of tearing apart your daily driver, get some tools together, buy a book like was shown above. Go to a near by parts store and buy an engine stand or get one from here...http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-capacity-engine-stand-32916.html
. Then go to a junkyard and buy a small block to take apart and learn from....
this should help you learn and show Dad that you're interested and trying to learn properly.... and at a minimal cost!
