I Installed Wilwood Disc Brake kit in front, I just tried to move the car yesterday and found that my tires are touching fender corner now, kit states it will move offset +.19 I have 235 70R 15 Cragars with 4.00 Backspace with 0 offset how can I resolve this issue? also put on the Wilwood Spacers, should I remove the Spacers, at this point leaving today and will not be back until July 7th, so any suggestions I will try when I get back home

So a 7" Wide Wheel with a 4"BS/0 offset

How wide are the Spacers ?

Does Wilwood say they are required/needed ??

I had no problems with the SSBC A123 Disc Conversion Kit I put on my Front
with a 7" Wheel with a 3.5" BS and car Lowered 2" from Stock in Front
Tire = Uniroyal Tiger Paws P205/75R /15”

I am running Kore3 Hubs and I believe they moved the front track out about 0.25" as well. I have 15x7 with 3.75" BS with 235/60R15s and no issues rubbing fenders. I must run a 0.25" spacer to clear my brakes though.

I also bought some 15x8 4" BS wheels and they seem to clear as well.

I have a 71 Chevelle, what do you have?

I will take them off, when I initially checked they did clear the calipers but wanted to make sure since I had already purchased the spacers, car has new springs all around stock height springs, I will take photo next week once I am home again, traveling again for work now, Boy do I miss my Car!

Okay removed the spacers still touch corner of fender when turn wheel, as Wilwood kit moved the offset to .19 how can I compensate for this I see Cragar has a 15x6 with -3 offset and no I do not want to roll or push my fender out, if buying new rims for the front or tires then if it will work i am open to that, also I was thinking maybe raising front will do the trick with spacer in the springs, I do have big Block springs that I am holding for my eventual engine change, which I probably wont do until next year spring as I am planning on buying another house first for investment, have to compromise with the spouse.

no not necessary just wanted to have them match rears, and I thought the 60's would look small also spoke to Wilwood and was told that if I change to OE Disc brake spindles that should resolve the issue, anyone heard that, I plan on calling to get another opinion if it would work I do no mind, cheaper than 2 more redlines,

I would hazard the guess that a lot more people are running 235/60's on the front, than 235/70's. It's your car and your money, though.

What spindles are on the car, now?

I'd say new wheels would be the "correct" way to do it, but that could be expensive...

IIRC, there may be some "narrow" control arms, but that's expensive too...

New brakes that don't have the increased tack-width issues?

Raising the car up might work, but may also cause problems if you hit a dip, etc...

Hi, "Rex" - I don't know why you jack up the size and boldness of the fonts in your posts - unlike most everybody else here - but I hereupon ask you to stop.

It is distracting - not to mention disconcerting when one scrolls down from a regular fonted post to one of yours.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Ok, let's look at the facts as we know them, now. Your brakes and spindles should be fine with a 15x7 front wheel w/zero offset. So, your front end is either really low or your front tires are so tall that they are creating the clearance issues you're experiencing, or both. If at all possible, please post a few photos of your car.

Okay was home this weekend currently at Airport, what I noticed that my tires are less than 1 inch away from the corner of the fender, so when I turn either way they touch, so as I see not other way than to change the front tires I am looking for options and not answer like it is my money, as mentioned I should put 235/60R15 up front 26.1" to replace the 235/70R15 28", so if I do would they be good with the 235/70R15 in rear, so I could either buy 2 more Coker BFGoodrich in the smaller size @close to $500.00 plus having them shipped to PR which is not cheap price, or I could purchase 4 BFGoodrich Raised Letters T/A which I also like in a tire for less than $600.00 locally in PR. if I go the 4 tire route putting 235/60R15 in front, what would be the best combination look size for the rear, my Cragars are 7" and also can I be sure that the downsize from 28" to 26.1 is enough as you know I cannot try before buy. I can save my redlines for next project or sell at a show as they do not have many miles on them.
