Yeah, Eugene, I don't know how serious I am about selling the '69, it's just that every time I drive it I feel like I'm defacing or devaluing it. I guess I would have been better off buying or restoring a car that I wouldn't feel that way about.

The guy I sold the '65 to back in '01 has kept very good care of it. He rebuilt (and de-tuned) my nasty little 327, replaced the M21 with a 5-speed and changed out the wheels and tires. Other than that it has accumulated some miles traveling to shows, where it has apparently received over 140 awards, including 4 best of show trophies. I'm not sure what Phil would think it is worth but I might be interested if I sell the '69. If I did buy it back I would return it to the way it looked and ran when I owned it.

And yes, the guy who owns the yellow '65 led me to believe he thinks it is worth a bunch. That is why I requested an asking price.

    Take care,
    Ole

Hi Ole. I haven't seen the yellow car other than the 2 pictures that he posted. I like the look of the one you had. I guess it would come down to how nice the yellow one is and how much he wants for it. After the long winded description of it he only left the 2 pictures and no hint as to how much he wanted for it. Going by his description it sounds like he thinks a lot of it so he might be looking for a lot of money for it. Let me know what you find out. Eugene

Looking at my NHRA classification guide dated 1965 with updates until 1972, 66 Chevelles with the 375 hp motor, El Camino 8.09 (plain ?), 8.14 if SS option, 8.23 for SS hardtop and 8.46 if SS convertible, for 1967 El Camino (plain) 8.17 (can't say I every saw one like this, El Camino SS 8.22, SS coupe 8.23 and SS Convertible was 8.52. I never saw the base El Camino with the 375 hp option but it is listed in the Guide. FYI Lance

    Ole,
Yes, it's the same guy! From what I know of the car it's got most everything original 'cept the trans. Sat and sat for umpteen years. If I would have known about this car 10 years ago, I'd own it. Now, just too much crap resides in my shop.
    Thanx for the reachout!

    Jerry
