History Bought it used, basically stock, in 1979. Paid a whopping $1200.

It was jacked up in the back with wide 15" tires on ugly slotted mags. The next day it was lowered all around with 14" whitewalls on Cragar 5 spokes!

Many changes later, took 1st place - 1991 Kamino Nationals, Palmdale, CA, '64-'67 Modified Division.

Got run into five times after, just minor sheet metal damage, but disheartening none the less.. Finally parked it in '97.

-

Let it sit until 2015. Spent this past year, starting Nov. 11, on a complete resto/mod. Everything but a frame off.

Turns out this gem was wrecked HARD in it's previous life. All sorts of hidden damage and parts replaced. Whoever did the repair work and paint did a great coverup. I had it 37 years without knowing. And they must have owned stock in Bondo products!

At least it is was a Fremonyt, CA factory build, and spent it's whole life in the Southwest, so rust was pretty much nonexistent.
