While the tax rates are a "little" high, NJ actually isn't that bad to deal with any more. And you do get to take a deduction on your NJ return for the high property taxes you pay. But I will say that NJ does treat tax preparers fairly, oddly enough.
The "average" property tax in NJ is over $7,000. That's more than "a little high". Claiming property tax does little for your return...
