Email this morning....

Been a few months or so, but as projects go...that is typical.

Wanted to give you feedback on your spec'd hydraulic roller cam/Morel lifters/pushrods/springs I installed in my home built 400 SBC.

The engine did not let me down and the car outperformed my expectations.

Basic refresh on the engine with two major changes-Dr J's ported original Holley EFI intake and the hydraulic roller replacing the previous CC solid flat tappet (XS290).

RWHP picked up 47 at the wheel on same Mustang 250 chassis dyno (452 corrected WHP/~530 CHP) and went from 12.07 at 116 mph to 11.43 @ 121 (time for a roll bar!).

Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical as the camshaft appeared to be smaller than expected, but the dyno showed a peak at 6300-6400 and I shift it at 7000 rpm. For the heck of it, we took it to 7500 several times on the dyno with no obvious valvetrain issues.

Few videos:

Basic weight of the car is 3110 with no gas or people and runs on a narrow 215/60-14 Mickey Thompson drag radial.

I was hoping to include a dyno chart, but I have yet to receive it from the dyno shop-quite disappointing.

Nonetheless-I'm quite happy at the outcome...realizing the entire car was restored and now runs as well as it does-very satisfying.

Thanks for a great product.

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?
