spot welder

Hi All, I recently purchased a 220 spot welder from HF. It came without a plug end, the wire is 12 or 14 ga. Does anyone have this same welder and if so, what plug end did you use? Thanks, Terry

Re: spot welder

It'll depend on what you have. I matched the 220V twist lock plug to my 220V outlet. I use the same style plug/outlet for my compressor, welder, HF spot welder, and have a few extension cords made up with the same ends. I think they are NEMA L6-20P, and L6-20R male and female, and a matching receptacles. I prefer twist lock plugs for stuff like that you'll be moving around. BTW, I have the same HF spot welder, and it works really good.

Re: spot welder

This says 16A rating https://www.harborfreight.com/240v-s...der-61206.html
L620 means 240V 20A which is fine, but the OP needs to check the rating of the breaker feeding the circuit.
