You had to go to a Pontiac dealer to find it, but they still seem to treat the Beaumont as autonomous. I didn't make it up and I could care less what ensues. The lawyers will never resolve this, so see you "at your Beaumont-Pontiac dealer".

Next thing you know, somebody will claim that an Opel is a Buick.

Semantics. Lunacy. All in good fun.
Keep an open mind...
That settles it.

Wow, major cabin fever on display. It must have been a long cold winter up there, eh.

Re: Is it a Pontiac or not?

I have a thing about odd cars. I had to own a Isuzu Ascender-which is a GMC Envoy.

I've always liked Acadians, I don't think I've ever seen one anywhere.

Right now, there's a beautiful 1969 Acadian Nova SS. Everywhere it says Acaidian, front & rear bumpers, center caps, the maple leaf is everwhere, even the horn button.

BUT! Have a look at the engine!

Very nice! You are certainly more versed in these cars than I could ever be.

Re: Is it a Pontiac or not?

The 1968 Acadian SS 350 Engine was called the Astro EconoFlame!!

Canadian Engines often had some unique names.

Acadian Beaumont and Canadian Pontiac often had different names for the same Engine.

Thanks

Re: Is it a Pontiac or not?

From the creator of the decal.

Thanks
Randy

""The fact is the air cleaner design is my own borrowed heavily from the Pontiac and Beaumont Astro Jet or Econo Jet Big Block style. It bugged me every time I saw a Canadian Poncho with a Turbo-Fire decal that all the Chevy repo houses sell south of the border so I took matters into my own hands. I made up 20 and sold a few on e-bay to recover my $300 cost.""

Funny, he states it's a reproduction. A repo of something that never existed?

Keep wishing.

Re: Is it a Pontiac or not?

I wish for nothing but the truth.

The decal creator clearly states he created it.

Thanks
