What do you think about the rear Cheetah emblems on the quarters?

I'm unfamiliar - what does "Cheetah" designate, and what emblems should be on the quarters?

I like the car.

Re: 1967 Beaumont - rear Cheetah emblem

Conroy Pontiac in Vancouver converted Beaumonts to 427 CI and called them Cheetahs. Similar to Yenko. I have not seen a rear quarter emblem on a 67. They had a small badge on the lower front fender.

Ah - thanks, Tom - very interesting.

The only Cheetah that came to mind was Bill Thomas's; never heard of these.

Unless it has some form of documentation $30,000 for a rolling project is dreaming. What extra value would the Cheetah conversion be worth?

Re: 1967 Beaumont - rear Cheetah emblem

Few people know about the Cheetah, so few buyers. These few buyers are fanatical. Very limited supply. 1967 is the best year, I think, because of the trim on the quarter panel. It is a very sharp car. I am no expert in value.

$30,000 ? I doubt it. He does say he will take less without all that non-matching drivetrain. Who would want that stuff anyway? With GM Canada documentation you could see if it was delivered to Conroy Pontiac originally.

I think someone must have put those emblems on as bait hoping someone might bite. A 67 Cheetah did not look like that. The story that Floyd shows of the green one owned by George Pappas is how it should look. I know of one other one. Neat cars that not many people know about.

Re: 1967 Beaumont - rear Cheetah emblem

I don't know, but the presence of the Sport Deluxe trim on the back panel is worth something right there. A limited run of that trim was reproduced at great cost.

As for the Cheetah emblem on the rear quarter I think it was just thrown on there by somebody. Paint, although it says it is custom, looks to me like the factory V-code Antique Pewter.

Vintage Vehicle Services is a great service for those wishing to learn the pedigree of a car. We are lucky to have it.
