The ring is built in, but with much higher quality components. We can sell just one as a replacement if need be also.

I've seen the APC ones in person. Wish you were closer to me so I could see yours in person too and might be interesting to compare them side by side.

On the less expensive ones, if the halo or the driving light bulb fail you have to replace the entire sealed capsule. This might be a deciding factor at least partially determined by how much you drive the car you intend to put these lights into. Not sure how easy or difficult (or expensive) it is to locate a single sealed capsule for replacement on the Ausley's version. Of course if the halo fails on either version you have the same issue of locating a single replacement capsule.

There are two completely different brands of halo lights being discussed here.

Ground Up: Delta brand, replaceable driving light bulbs
Ausley's: APC brand, sealed capsules

Both have halogen driving light bulbs and halos in the capsule and look basically stock when lights and halos are off. The two magazine articles feature the APC brand versions but the install would apparently be the same for both.
Wait is this true? If I get the Ausley's lights, will I have to get an entire new light and not just a halogen bulb?

Yes. I have a set of the APC lights and they are sealed capsules. If either burns out you have to replace the entire bulb/capsule.

Re: Halo Headlights for 64-70!

I purchased a set of the new halo lights from Ground Up and they are a bear to get to fit. I have a 1969 Chevelle and started with the brights, those were difficult and then I started the Hi/Low lights and the alignment slots on the back of the lights do not line up with the light buckets so now I am dead in the water. Has anyone else ran into this issue? What's the fix?

Re: Halo Headlights for 64-70!

That thought did cross my mind, but they are here and I have probably had them long enough that I cant return them even though they are still in the boxes and to be honest I think they will look good with the flat black paint. Right now they are not looking all that great sitting there staring at me yelling, put me in...

Poor fit seems to be a universal problem with these aftermarket light kits. That's the reason I haven't made the leap, yet.

Re: Halo Headlights for 64-70!

I ordered a set of Dapper Lighting 575 lights for my 66 Chevelle. Still waiting on them to arrive so can't comment on quality or fitment yet. Read a lot of good things about them and they have choice of different halos as well as the switch back option to be used as turn signals.

They have 7 Inch versions as well.

The APC set I installed dropped right in the buckets without any issues at all.

Did you purchase those from Ausley's?
