WOW!...."They're still out there!"....

What are some of the other cars in the collection? Mostly Chevys?

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

Car has been in Dallas since 88. Bill of sale shows it came from Shreveport before that.

Allen was definitely a Chevy guy but didn't discriminate - he kept a 1940 Chevy Panel (454) as the primary hot rod for as long as I knew the family (30+ years). It was featured once in Dallas Car Sharks. Also had a 64 T-bird that was an on again/off again cruiser (also on DCS). Daily drove an SSR.

Some of the other cars include:
2 1937 Desotos
2 1937 Plymouth Businessman Coupes
1937 Plymouth P50 Truck
1950 Dodge Panel Truck
1954 Chevy BelAir 2 dr
1957 Chevy 210 4 dr
1957 Chevy 150 2 dr
1959 Caddy 4 dr
1964 Dodge Swingline
1965 Impala 396 4 dr
1965 Chrysker imperial
1966 Ford Fairlane GTA 2 dr
1966 Impala 396 4 dr
1967 Malibu 2 dr
1971 Vette Stingray 454
1972 Buick LeSabre Vert
1972 Chevelle 2dr

1965 Impala SS 396 4 dr?

I can see a 1965 Impala 4 door with a 396, but not a 4 door SS.

Got it. I must have noted those in error. Oddly, the blue impala had it's hood chained and locked.

Here are a couple more photos. FYI, lots of poison ivy in there...

Next question: Are these cars going to be sold? Auctioned? Inherited?

Yeah, they are for sale. I went down to help out evaluating condition/rough appraisal and also to see if I might be able to pick up a rat rod/shop truck project (I don't have a shop but of course am in dire need of a shop truck). There is a great 37 Plymouth P50, 51 F1 and 64 Swingline + a 51 3100 that is swiss cheese unfortunately...

In talking through the situation, the family would prefer to liquidate the assets (including the properties). Realistically it would be easiest to sell the lot and make is someone else's responsibility to remove ALL cars/junk in one foul swoop vs. selling individually. There are about 40 cars total and many low value ones in the mix which would be hard to sell alone. The 66 and the live collection are the only ones that are out of that mix.

I'm curious about the white four door Impala with 396 fender flags. If in fact that is a real 396 four door

It wasnt uncommon to see the 396 in 4 doors and wagons and such. It didnt have to be an SS in the full size line to get the engine you wanted. Ive seen quite a few of them actually in the more door configuration.

Cool find on that 66 convertible. You would never expect a highly desirable car like that amongst the rest of the herd there. Very cool.

I guess it was common back in the day to see those cars. but 50 years later it seems very rare to ever see a 4 door car with a BB.

Is the property for sale too? It could be a great deal for someone to buy up the whole lot if it was cheap enough.
